Circunvalacion Norte Road Corridor
(Completed)

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Circunvalacion Norte Road Corridor project consisted of the construction of 5.5 kilometers of new road infrastructure between La Uruca and Calle Blancos, as part of National Route 39. The project, financed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) through the Strategic Road Infrastructure Program of Costa Rica, included the longest viaduct in the country and Costa Rica’s first three-level interchanges, becoming one of the most important road infrastructure interventions for mobility in the Greater Metropolitan Area.

Developed in stages or functional units, the project progressively enabled different sections of the highway, improving traffic flow for more than 100,000 vehicles per day. The new road contributes to reducing congestion, improving travel times, and strengthening connectivity in one of the country’s busiest areas.
