PROERI strengthens communities for comprehensive emergency response

Emergency preparedness requires strengthening community capacities and considering the needs of all individuals, especially those in vulnerable conditions.

Within the framework of the Emergency Program for Comprehensive and Resilient Infrastructure Reconstruction (PROERI), 189 people were trained—including civil society representatives and members of municipal emergency committees—with the goal of strengthening their capabilities for comprehensive emergency and disaster prevention and management.

The workshops, conducted with technical support from UNOPS between December 2025 and May 2026 across 11 cantons, addressed topics such as gender, diversity, and inclusion; inclusive leadership; and social mapping. This last tool allows for the identification of vulnerable populations and their specific needs, contributing to a more effective response during a potential emergency.
